It says Ultrafins fins can be supplied with "rails" and without the "rails". What is the difference in terms of how the fins work and kick.
Hi, Daniel!
Long rails with your spearfishing or freediving fins add extra rigidity near the foot, so the first part (from the Head and down) of the blade bends less. This can make the fins feel stiffer. I personally find it good for spearfishing where quick bursts matter. However, more and more freedivers and sperfishers prefer railess option where the blade has the dull range of motion. Durability – the long rails protect the blade edges from knocks and scratches, which is again good for the spearfishing.
